Hercules Fountain Introduction:
The Hercules fountain consists of three parts. The left lion rests its paws on a spherical base, spouting a fountain to the left, while the right lion does the same, spouting a fountain to the right. Hercules stands at the center, subduing Cerberus. There are also exquisite vines and garlands decorating the fountain wall.
Upon closer inspection, the texture of the lions’ manes, the sculpted contours of Hercules’ musculature, and the ferocious expressions of Cerberus are all rendered with striking clarity.
